my morning route is 18 miles and for the most part, smooth, but there is moderate to fast moving traffic for the entire commute. In the afternoon, that route is way too congested with crazy heavy traffic, so I take the backroads home, adding 2 miles to the commute, and the roads are not in good repair at all. It's much more asthetic though, wildlife is not uncommon.
I used to be in the USCF, and was a Cat 3 rider. I met my wife, and riding completely fell by the wayside as did my health. I changed jobs at my employer cutting the commute by 8 miles. I took this job change as a way to change my health and well-being at the same time. Life is good
Saw an antelope the other day haulin' across a field. I'm sure there will be more to come. I really enjoy the commute due to the fact that it's my time, and I can do as I wish. I spend time thinking a lot, and praying a little bit, yes, out loud, why not? It's very head clearing, and really gets me pumped up in the morning.
I'm very happy to be doing something positive for myself, and the enviroment. It's awesome.
