Commutes 4 Miles RoundTrip for 5 years and 0 months
Seven days a week, my bike is my primary transportation Year Round

Largely small town urban, mostly pretty flat, but slightly downhill in the morning and uphill in the evening. Passes through residential, commercial, and industrial areas, affluent and poor neighborhoods. Only one short section with much traffic.

Middle aged guy who got into riding several years ago. Pretty well hooked now. I'm trying to be a good example for my kids, but so far they're mostly un-interested in anything other than an occasional short ride on a bike path. I'm not gonna pressure them.

Just the usual near misses and lots of people on the route that have become quite familiar - we usually wave. The best story may have been on a recent snow day when the cars couldn't get traction and were gridlocked through town. I just cruised along the edge of the road and felt pretty good moving along while they were all stuck there.

My bike is my primary mode of transport, but I have an old beater car and I use it to haul my kids around when necessary and when I need to go somewhere more than 10 miles away and have to be there in a hurry or can't be soaked with sweat when I get there.
