Commutes 25 Miles RoundTrip for 5 years and months
Five Days a week, I use my bike to travel to and from work Year Round

The option of riding a straight route to work exists, but with traffic, a beautiful sunrise, and a seamless bike path (Santa Ana River Trail)...my commute often takes me twice the linear distance to arrive at work. A shower, locker, and full machine/tool shop make the option of bicycle commuting that much more enjoyable.

I'm a big fan of public transportation (I caught the fever from many travels though Europe), bicycles, and self-reliance. I often opt for the the harder, yet more rewarding path of life. I love the satisfaction of daily commuting over the stress of automobile-based travel in Southern California.

One quick reflection: One great reward of my commute is the Friday-afterwork ride to the beach (year round). The ride on the Santa Ana River Trail takes me under the 5, 55, 57, 22, 91, 405 freeways...often all backed up from gridlock. I pass right on by enjoying the exercise and the fact that I can separate myself from that part of the rat-race that living in SoCal can be.
