70% trail, 30% urban and suburban roads. I prefer the road to the trails but in my case the trail is faster and more direct. The trail system in the DC area is fairly extensive and makes my commute much more relaxing. Lucky for me there is an alternate 20 mile route from my office to home. This is great on god weather days and when I feel like riding a bit farther.
Fixed gear hooligan. I love riding fixed in the city. My summer commuting rig is a fix, with track geometry and brakes. In the winter I will ride an old Dunelt 3-speed that has been converted to a fixed gear.
