Commutes 30 Miles Oneway for 1 years and months
Two or less days a week, I am a bike commuter Year Round

Going in to work I ride 5 miles to the bus station at 5:15 am, then connect with the train and then 2 more miles to my work. Going home I can either ride the complete 30 miles home or take the train to the last station and then it's 18 miles from there.

Not a commuting story, but a good one. One day I was riding down the road (three lanes) with a bike messenger friend of mine when an angry driver came from behind honking his horn and waving his hand and cussing at us because we were taking up the right hand lane. He locked his brakes and left about 25 ft of skid marks before coming to a stop, all while still cussing and screaming at us. About that time his eyes got as big as silver dollars when he noticed the gun and gun belt around my waist and police uniform that I was wearing. He was very apologetic, but that didn't get him out of a ticket.
