Commutes 8 Miles RoundTrip for years and 8 months
Five Days a week, I use my bike to travel to and from work Year Round

A mixture of city streets, borough alleys, riverside parks, bridges, and sidewalks. My need to cross the Susquehanna River limits my routes severely. The ride takes about 20 minutes; 10 minutes shorter than my other option of 7 minutes driving to City Island, parking, and walking 20 minutes to the office. For all the details of my route see the 8/9/03 post of my blog at www.bicyclecommutingnow.blogspot.com

31 years old, originally from Western Pennsylvania, working for an environmental non-profit focusing on watersheds and rivers, as a program coordinator, married for just over 1 year, with one dog (Micky) and two hand-me-down bikes (A Diamondback and a Giant). For pictures of Micky and my bikes visit www.bicyclecommutingnow.blogspot.com and scroll down the right-hand column.

My fave thing about bike commuting is the ability to freestyle through traffic jams, hitting the sidewalks when needed, cutting parking lots, and other areas, that cars just can't maneuver through, over, or around. For more stories, visit www.bicyclecommutingnow.blogspot.com
