Commutes 52 Miles RoundTrip for 18 years and months
Five Days a week, I use my bike to travel to and from work Year Round

Half of my route is bike path, about a quarter is protected(marked) bike lane and the other quarter is busy city streets in downtown Providence.

Primary job is Aircraft Mechanic for USAirways, second job is part-time salesperson for Providence Bicycle. Wife and two children( all accomplished cyclist). I have become a huge fan of fixed-gear training and that is what I use as my commuter bike. My back-up bike is my beloved Waterford 2200.

I have been hit by a car 4 times, and luckily I have never been seriously hurt or had a bike badly damaged.

Guys at work wanted to know why I ride to work, when it is safer and easier to drive to work. Well, we only own one car and I would like my wife to have it in case of an emergency(she is a stay-at-home-mom). Not to mention all the money we save on gas and wear-and-tear on the car. And with my busy schedule, how else am I going to train so I do well racing!!!!!
