route to work, before I got laid off in November, was 6 miles of gentle hills, moslty level. The challenge comes in the winter when it rains here; fenders and a good rain slicker make for a refreshing ride then. No matter where, riding to work wakes me up in the morning.
Early 1998 we sold our car and got bikes for everyone. Haven't looked back.
