I live in south Minneapolis and commute to a large suburban corporate campus. I pass through a state park near my home and follow a bike trail along the Mississippi river. Then I cross the Minnesota river and follow the bike path along its bank. This is my favorite part of my commute. I've seen bald eagles, wild turkeys, fox, and numerous deer in the early morning. The second half takes me through standard suburban office parks filled with aggressive drivers. To entertain myself I count the number of vehicles with more than one occupant. Rarely does it exceed three. |

I started bike commuting in part to lose weight and get in shape. Like many people, I have a job where I sit all day. Now, at 40 I'm in the best shape of my life. |
